Grant County EDC Welcomes Joseph Akers

The Grant County Economic Development Council would like to take this opportunity to welcome our newest staff member, Joseph Akers!

Joseph has lived in the Moses Lake area of Grant County for over thirty years. Of those thirty years, he has been happily married for twenty-eight of them and also has three grown children!

Living in Grant County has enabled Joseph to get a wide view of the challenges that come with growth in the business sector. His time here has been spent as an industry leader with 23 years spent as the Site Manager for Chemi-Con Materials as well as two years as the Head of Operations for SGL.

This experience makes Joseph a prime candidate as our new Director of Business Retention and Expansion. This job will put Joseph in a unique position to reach out to other industry leaders and partners of the Grant County EDC to help our wonderful county grow and thrive to its fullest potential.

Joseph says he is excited for this opportunity to connect to these businesses and entrepreneurs and see how the Grant County EDC can further help our community and our businesses!

He says he loves our community and can’t wait to start engaging with it on a broad, county-wide scope.

Please join us in welcoming Joseph Akers to the Grant County Economic Development Council, we are very excited to have someone so qualified on our staff and we are certain he will be a strong fit for the position.

Welcome to the EDC, Joseph! Glad to have you!
